Bearish positions on 10-year Treasury note rise for second week
FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), traders pushed their overall bearish bets on a 10-year Treasury note futures higher last week for a second consecutive week.
The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes stood at a net position of -109,710 contracts in the data reported for February 24th. The long positions in 10-year futures declined sharply by -43,019 contracts while the short positions dipped by just -517 contracts.
Meanwhile, during the reporting time period - February 17th to February 24th - the yield on the 10-Year treasury note slid from 2.14% to 1.99%.
