ECB likely to hike rates in Q2, 2019 - Bloomberg

The latest survey of 48 economists by Bloomberg shows a majority of economists expect the European Central Bank (ECB) to hike rates in the second quarter of 2019.

Key points

The deposit rate could increase to -0.25 percent from current -0.40 percent only in Q2, 2019. 

Eurozone to expand 2.1 percent in 2018 and 1.8 percent in 2019. 

The probability of a recession over the next year is only 8 percent.
