Global markets overview in a snapshot - ANZ

Analysts at ANZ offered a snapshot of global markets.

"Global equities pushed higher as volatility continued to moderate. Bond yields generally lifted and the USD appreciated. 

US equities opened down about 0.4% before gradually climbing throughout the US morning. 

At one stage, the S&P 500 was up over 0.8%, although it has eased back to a 0.5% gain at the time of writing, largely as Treasuries faced further selling pressure (10-year yield +2bps to 2.82%). 

European bourses rose 1.8-1.9% and European yields also rose (10 year bund +5bps to 0.75%).

WTI oil prices fell 3.0%, driven by data showing stronger US production. Gold fell 0.7%."
