US Pres Trump: Will impose large sanctions on Turkey for their long time detainment of Pastor Andrew Brunson

US President Donald Trump has recently threatened Turkey with a message via Twitter:

"The United States will impose large sanctions on Turkey for their long time detainment of Pastor Andrew Brunson, a great Christian, family man and wonderful human being. He is suffering greatly. This innocent man of faith should be released immediately!" Trump wrote.

The initial market reaction to this development lifted the USD/TRY to a daily high at 4.8878. The pair was last seen trading near 4.85, where it was up 1.6% on the day.
